The Secret of Thanksgiving- part 1

Thanksgiving is an attitude of appreciating God and being grateful for what you have received from Him, or for what He has done for you. Only a heart full of thanks can be a heart full of praise. Thanksgiving is a major secret of life, but forgotten by most. It beautifies your life and makes things flow easier.

Psalm 103.JPGIn order for thanksgiving to bear fruit outward, it must first have a root inside of you. In Psalms 103:1-2 we are reminded to “Bless the Lord with all that is within us, and to not forget all His benefits”. How often we allow our needs to blind us and we forget God’s blessings and goodness and all He has done for us.

It is very dangerous to not be grateful, because we then stop God from blessing us further. However, when we thank Him for what He has already done, we remind Him of the things we do not have.

God is absolutely wonderful. He loads us with benefits on a daily basis. He always proves Himself faithful, and we have so many reasons to bless Him. When you bless Him every day, He blesses you every day, and no one can stop His blessings upon your life. We must never stop reminding ourselves of His daily benefits that flow freely from God to us.

“Who forgives all our iniquities”; our forgiveness cost God His only begotten Son. When we forget that, we grieve His heart. When was the last time you blessed Him and thanked Him for forgiving you?

“Who heals all our diseases”; when was the last time you sat down and blessed Him and thanked Him for keeping you healthy?

“Who satisfies our mouth with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagles”; never be ashamed to bless Him for the food He gives you, no matter where you are.

If He never gives you any more benefits, the fact He forgave your sins and you will spend eternity in heaven, is enough for you to keep blessing and thanking Him all the days of your life!

Have you blessed Him today?

  2. “He loads us with benefits on a daily basis.” So true. Quite often the Holy Spirit reminds me there are many things God does for me that I DON’T SEE. Those are the things I am so grateful for. Thank you, Lord.
